A light, golden tan whippet made her way through the city. Her head was droped, tail between her legs. Charlotte was limping; she was missing her back right leg. It had been removed not long ago at all, a mere month or so ago, when she had injured it severly while running in the paddocks. She whimpered at the thought. Running in the paddocks. In Australia, on her family's farm. How she missed the girl she had been raised with, a year older than herself, and the young woman who truly owned her, but had moved to an Australian city to go to university.
Now, she was searching desperately for her family. She had been taken by a man. Somehow, she had escaped him, after long days, weeks even. Now, her family was nowhere to be found. She had found her way to the place they had been staying. Different humans were there now. Charly had searched thorughout the huge, busy and frightening city for longer than the time she was with the man who kidnapped her. Weeks and weeks. Food was hard to find. She was so used to having it provided for her.
Charlotte now made her way up an alley. Suddenly, she barked twice, catching the scent of another dog, a male. Maybe he knew where they were. Or at least would let her stay here. She barked again, desperately.

The cattle dog trotted quickly up to the desperate sounding barks. He a dog could sweat, he was. His toung panted out of his mouth. He need to find the bark. Suddenly, another bark came. Becoming worried, he barked back. His alley was large. He ran through two different dumpsters full of trash then trotted towards what looked like half a dog? He finally caught up to her. He slowed down to a walk and then stopped a ways before her, not knowing who she was or what she was like. He lied down and began crawling towards her. Still panting, he stood back up in front of her. She was shorter than him. Was that possible? He gave her a warm and welcoming smile. He took another step forward, standing right in front of her now.
Lo Miss.
He said kindly. His ears stayed perched atop his head and his tail began to wag. He hadn't noticed the only three legs she had, and it wouldn't bother him anyways.

The three-legged whipped looked up, a brief smile flying across her maw as she glanced at the male, a cattle dog slightly taller than herself.
"Hello. I'm Charlotte. I... I've lost my family of humans. Weeks ago. They took me here, another man took me away from them and I got away... He wasn't nice and I wanted my family... They weren't where they had been. I've been looking for them for days, weeks. Even a couple of months..." she explained. Charlotte paused, shaking her head slightly.
The canine gazed at the other desperately, though not making eye contact, which would be a challenge to him. He was obviously unowned; there was not so much as a faint scent of humans on him, bar the smell of their left over food, thrown into the dumpsters in the long and wide alley. He also, by his stance and greeting, seemed dominant, she assumed the alpha of the alley. She was not used to the ways of strays, and alphas of alleys, as she was a pet who lived in the country... Or did. But instinctively could tell he was an alpha, and it seemed on the road at either side were unclaimed, territory of humans. This dog was obviously the alpha of some space, and it seemed this alley.

Sage was panting, catching his breath back from a flight from the dogcatcher. It hadn’t been too close, but if he hadn’t run it would have been more then near! He would be spending the rest of the day, heck the rest of his life, in the pound.
Checking behind him, Sage could still smell the horrid stench of the pound, which lingered around every dogcatcher he had ever met. That meant said cretin was not too far behind, even if he was not directly chasing Sage. Rounding a corner, Sage pulled up short at the sight of two dogs in front of him.
One of them he had seen around before, though never conversed with. That was the cattle dog. He was an alpha like Sage. That could be a recipe for disaster if his ego was nearly as large as that of the Doberman Sage had already had a run in with. He didn’t want to fight and so carefully pricked his ears up straight and flattened his fur, which had been standing slightly on end from his encounter with the dogcatcher.
The second dog seemed to be having some trouble walking, though Sage couldn’t tell why from his angle, as the alpha blocked his view. He didn’t remember seeing her around before but that didn’t mean she couldn’t be trouble. Cautiously he approached, pausing two metres in front of them to make sure he was not seen as intruding on whatever they were doing.
‘I wouldn’t advise you to go that,’ he spoke gravely and without inflection, trying to keep his voice neutral. He wouldn’t wish the pound on his worst enemy. ‘The dogcatcher is headed in this direction.’ Standing completely still, and ever more aware of the dogcatcher coming closer, Sage waited for a response.
(OOC. hope you don't mind me joining)

His eyes grew darker and he quickly spun his body around towards the newer dog. A male. He already didn't like him, but completely hid it inside of him. He took a few steps back and looked behind the dog that had just arrived. His eyes grew in anger as he knew that a dogcatcher had found his alley. How dare this newcomer lead that evil human this way. He gave an evil glare at the male then gently pushed the female towards a large dumpster. He climbed up on the trash cans then jumped back down in pitch black in hiding. He invited the female to join him, but still glared at the male. He didn't like that one.

Sage could tell that he wasn’t trusted when the other dog didn’t reply to his warning except to move out of the way. He sighed heavily. Not that he would have trusted any strange dog who appeared in his alleyway, but that was, currently, beside the point. Looking back over his shoulder, then towards the two dogs, especially the female who probably couldn’t run very fast, he made a decision.
‘I’ll try to lure him past,’ he said finally, though the idea instilled fear in him. The idea of trying to catch the attention of the dogcatcher was unheard of. The only dog Sage had ever met who did such a thing hadn’t been right in his head and had taken pleasure in running dogcatchers into the sea water. Sage knew for a fact that ol’ Billy was now in the pound – or perhaps dead.
‘Take care of yourselves,’ he added, though guessed the warning could be construed as a threat, which he didn’t want. So, with a slight nod, Sage headed out of the alley and started barking. Now it was only a matter of time until the moronic human arrived.

Charlotte frowned in confusion. "What? Dogcatcher?"
She glanced over in the direction Sage had come from, but saw nothing. "What? I... What's this about a dog catcher?" She had been brought up by kind owners, and had never been approached by a dogcatcher, never been near a pound.
Catiously, Charly followed the male, glancing over her shoulder continuously. She paused, attempting to spring up after the cattle dog. A yelp echoed through the alley as her leg gave way, and she fell into a sprawling position on the ground.

Sage’s heart jumped into his throat as, almost simultaneously, he heard the female dog yelp and fall, and the unmistakable rough cries of the dogcatcher,
“I found ‘im.” Torn, Sage moved towards the dog, then looked towards the other alpha. He would help her, Sage could tell. Steeling himself, Sage turned to face a balding middle-aged human with a sneer upon his face and a long metal pole clasped in his sweaty hands. Barking loudly, Sage did the only the he could do which would guarantee the dogcatcher coming after him – he attacked.
His hind legs gave him a powerful push after his running start and he landed with a thump on the dogcatcher’s chest, causing the man to stumble backwards against a wall before he straightened and took a swing at Sage who was still off balance from his landing. The cold metal struck Sage’s muzzle and he snarled instinctively, tasting blood.
Sage made a run for it, speeding around the corner, checking over his shoulder just once to make sure the portly man was chasing him, before speeding up his pace and hoping to every dog god that he made it out of this one a free dog.

Bandit watched the femmora dog as she stumbled, but waited for the human to pass by before he emerged from his dumpster area. The male had been a hero to them both, and now, all he could do was pray for him to be ok. He emerged from behind the dumpster and ran towards the female. He circled around her, continuing to look towards the alley opening for any other humans. He saw none and turned his attention towards the female. He whimpered continuously. He licked the top of her head in comfort.
You alright?
He stammered and then continued licking her. He now noticed the missing leg, but said nothing about. It'd be hard for her to survive a place like this with only three legs. He needed to find her a home. But where? There was no place safe for a femmora like this.

Charlotte nodded, struggling to her feet as Bandit licked her, wincing in surprise. She paused, allowing the other's wet tongue to run across her head, before quickly steadying herself.
"Yes, I'm fine," she murmured. The whippet glanced at her back leg, which was bleeding slightly near the top of her leg. Charlotte sighed heavily, before looking back up at Bandit, glancing briefly at Sage.

Sage bolted like someone had hit him with a rolled up newspaper. His legs galloped across the pavement and he felt a sharp pain in his side from where he’d fought with the Dragon dog. He was panting, already tired from his original race. However he had inadvertently brought the dogcatcher down on the other two dogs, it was his job to escape and get rid of the man. As he skidded around a corner, Sage felt something hard strike his eye and he yelped loudly, closing his left eye as it teared and he realised with a panic that he was about to be caught. Was this what it felt like to know you were doomed for certain death? Whining pitifully, Sage ducked hopelessly around another corner and skidded to a halt. One way would take him back to the other dogs, the other to a dead end. Left with no other option, Sage turned, snarling to face the dogcatcher who held a long metal pole with a loop on the end out, his face a sneer as he moved in, thinking he was victorious. ‘Please, please let me live,’ Sage whispered, waiting until the man was only a few feet away, before dashing wildly for his legs. For a second he thought the fat human was going to fall on him, then he was free, the man caught up in his own metal pole, and Sage tearing back the way he came. Only once he was sure he was alone did he allow himself to think of the other dogs. He whined and scraped at his bleeding eye with one paw, still unable to open it, but it hurt more when he touched it so he left it be. Finally, coming to a decision, the German Shepherd trotted back towards the alley he had found the dogs in. He had to know that they were alright. He arrived and peered in, giving a soft warning yip so they wouldn’t attack. ‘You guys alright?’ he stepped fully into the alley, dripping blood as he did so. (OOC. Eloise – Sage had already left so she couldn’t have “glanced at him” )

Bandit stopped licking the female's head and looked back up at what looked like a hurt dog. He shook his body from the dripping roofs and looked around for the dogcatcher. He sniffed the dog from a distance before replying. He saw no humans now, and felt completely safe as before. He looked at the other male and snorted.
I think the question is are you alright?
Of course they were fine. They had stayed right where they were the whole time. What could happen to them while they were gone? He looked the German shepherd over. What had happened to his eye?

((Since Sarge left... Here comes Feud!) I'm Looking For Attention
Feud had seen the human coming, ad hidden behind a few cluttered garbage cans, and waited, baited breath and tail lowered. She couldn't tell if the catch had gone, but when she heard Bandit and Charlotte taliking, she slowly raised a furtive, reddish nose over the edge of a can, accompanied by two dark orbs, searching carefully for threat.
I don't Know the Question
When she felt secure, Feud leapt with a quick pulse of her strong back legs, andknocked down the can, pretending not to notice. She ambled with a profound clicking of blunted nail to where the other two waited, her heart beating so loudly she feared the dogcatcher would hear it and come back to take her away. "Um... lo, sir and lady. I- is this your alley?"
Should I stay or Should I Go?

Bandit looked up. Another dog. Why were there so many? Was it because of the temperature, or time of year? He looked back at Charlotte, then the other male dog, then back at the other femmora. His head kauked. He jumped at the sound of a sudden trash can falling, then was suddenly on the look out for any people who could've heard the loud noise. Finally, his gaze rested on the newer female.
Yes, this is Silicon Alley! And who are you?
He asked in a quiet tone. There was so much going on just now.

If you don't know the answer, then why're you still standin here?
She flicked her ears back, sensing his obvious distress. With a lower tone, she replied. "My name is Feud. Am I interrupting anything? I can leave, if you'd like." Her eyes glittered and she took a step back. Her tail lowered slightly. She knew that he was tense, but not that he was unwelcoming. She was ready to run if she had to. And she was fast.
Hey hey hey hey, just walk away

Bandit looked back at Charlotte, then the male dog, whom he never even asked the name of. He whimpered then looked towards the female she had just called Feud. He shifted weight. This was very much confusing. He looked to the newer female to reply to her question before he'd go on with the male.
You are welcome here for now Feud.
He spoke calmly, yet he was still in distress. He looked back at the male, still awaiting an answer.

I think the question is are you alright?
Sage whimpered a little and tried to take another step forward to answer, stumbling a little on a paw he hadn’t even recognised as sore and thingyed his head to the side as another dog entered the alley. Fued she called herself. Sage felt dizzy and his eye was still dripping blood. He didn’t want to show weakness in front of this dog who had been unwelcoming before. It could mean death.
‘I’m…’ he began finally, once a short conversation had taken place in front of him. He slipped on some of his own blood and fell heavily to his front knees. ‘I think…’ he tried to reassure them again, now forced to lie down. Finally he replied in a sleepy voice which didn’t bode well, ‘I think I just need…to lye down…’ he wheezed, his sides puffing in and out rapidly as he fought to keep his good eye open.

Little bodice traveled through the shadows of the alley. She heard voices of others, other dogs. her light nose twitched as she smelt scents all around her. There was no way she could see them for she was stuck in wire mesh. She wimpered loud and sadly to the male she had heard from away.Would they come and help her. The large wound on her front leg was growing larger and growing deeper. Whimpering again she snapped at it only to cut her face. Orbs were scared as no one had come yet. She hoped they would, and that they would not turn her down. Pulling away from it it didint help it just tangled her in it more. She saw only walls around her as she heard the footsteps of someone. She sniffed the air, it was a human. She paniced as she tried to hide in the shadows away from sight. Whimpering lightly she stayed hidden as she saw him pass her. Had he noticed her??. She hoped her hadnt. Awaiting the others to help her she stayed in the shadows only little red merle sticking out.
